We journey alone.
When the soul was born it was born alone.
And when the soul returns to God, It scales the final mountain-face alone.
But in between while on this earth,
It somehow seems we can walk together;
We try so hard to walk together.
To lose ourselves in each other’s arms,
Me your world as you for me.
We want to be more than just two parallel lines,
Which merge in God, in infinity.
Yet something inside won’t let this be,
Something inside tells me constantly…
We journey alone, we journey alone.
We journey alone.
When the soul was born it was born alone.
And when the soul returns to God, it scales the final mountain-face alone.
And in between if we can just let go,
Of our clinging need to share one road.
Choose to leave our feathered nests,
And put ourselves to acid tests.
Then this will be my silent prayer,
That some day we’ll have two worlds to share.
Then who’s to say that we won’t be
Happy that we are just two parallel lines,
Which merge in God, in infinity.
And one day we shall surely see,
Some day our greatest joy may be…
We journey alone, we journey alone.
